Top Five Gifts for christmas

Well the time has come to get the people you love something for Christmas but you obviously want to get away from giving them the dreaded woolly jumper or novelty socks!

Even though we’re in a recession there has to be one time where you feel you have to really splash the dosh out so with this in mind here’s the best ten gifts to buy for loved ones this year!

We start with the gift for the person that wants to have a media player but wants an alternative to the usual brands in this:

The Archos 5 60GB Internet Media Tablet

With this you are able to view web pages like on a home PC and just as fast, you can also store your personal media library, however unlike other brands you can store movies in high definition and record TV to play on there.

Perfect for the gadget/media obsessed male!

You can buy this from this link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Archos-60GB-Internet-Media-Tablet/dp/tech-data/B001EJODH2/ref=de_a_smtd

Next on the list is for the comedian that’s inside of all of us, we know that people like to do the occasional prank at Christmas and try to tell the jokes out of the crackers in the most hilarious way possible but if you want to show them how it is really done here’s a selection of stand up DVD’s that you can buy from Play.com!

The true star of Gavin And Stacy and star of the cult classic Marion And Geoff brings his standup to DVD and shows he’s just as funny telling anecdotes about his own life.

Despite all the scandal following the now infamous Andrew Sachs incident this DVD shows how a comedian can still remain triumphant as he shows a very good way at mocking himself and getting the crowd to laugh with him about the moments.

For the next item it’s a way to help make the day go faster by having a hot babe’s picture stuck onto the wall:

The final two items on this list are for fans of probably the best car related show on the TV in Top Gear!

Firstly the Big Book Of Top Gear:

Featuring all the best bits from the 2009 annual plus tonnes of new features, The Big Book of Top Gear 2010 will be a powerful force to match that of the TV show.

You'll get the lowdown on all the new fastest laps, the best and worst of the new cars, and all the madcap adventures featured in the new series, including the presenters' return to the US to road-test a new generation of American muscle cars, and a potentially ill-conceived road trip through Vietnam.

And finally to save people spouting random Stig quotes in the pub: The Stig quoting action figure!

the items bar the archos can be all brought from www.play.com

Lesbian Bed Death/Dragstrip Junkies 27th November 2009

Venue: The Rigger (Newcastle Under Lyme)

It’s been a long time since Lesbian Bed Death had played a gig in their hometown, in fact the last time they had done so was at the Godless festival two years before and people were wondering where they had gone to during the time.

During the break they had done the occasional gig outside of the area and at the same time news reached the internet of the band recording their second album.

A month before this gig the news was announced: the second album had been recorded and Mr Peach (the founder and guitarist for the band) released some info which you can find here:

With this it was time to as Kevin Smith said when it came to recording Clerks II to go ‘back to the well’.

The night started with Preston’s own Dragstrip Junkies hitting the stage with their own personal brand of sleaze rock which goes down very well with the crowd and manage to get a few converters not only through their music and stage presence but it probably helped they had girls in hot outfits to sell the merchandise!

If you like songs mostly to do with women, touring and the occasional drug reference then you’ll enjoy Dragstrip!

Now onto the main event in Lesbian Bed Death…

Since the last gig the lineup had changed slightly with a new bassist and a different drummer (to the eagle eyed the same drummer from Dragstrip Junkies at least for this gig)

It was also the first time to hear any of the new material and with ‘moonlight’ and ‘Retrosexual’ the band have managed to achieve the chance to break out when the second album arrives.

The performance was very tight, some of the songs may sound faster live than on the record but the fact they can adapt the songs without missing a beat works well with the vocals of Luci4 bringing the combination of soul and sleaze together perfectly along with the dual guitars of Mr Peach and Chuckmaster C (not the actual persona name but had to think of one!)

A worthy return for the band and overall the show was a good night of rock and roll to kick off the weekend right!
