Venue: The Rigger (
It’s been a long time since Lesbian Bed Death had played a gig in their hometown, in fact the last time they had done so was at the Godless festival two years before and people were wondering where they had gone to during the time.
During the break they had done the occasional gig outside of the area and at the same time news reached the internet of the band recording their second album.
A month before this gig the news was announced: the second album had been recorded and Mr Peach (the founder and guitarist for the band) released some info which you can find here:

With this it was time to as Kevin Smith said when it came to recording Clerks II to go ‘back to the well’.
The night started with Preston’s own Dragstrip Junkies hitting the stage with their own personal brand of sleaze rock which goes down very well with the crowd and manage to get a few converters not only through their music and stage presence but it probably helped they had girls in hot outfits to sell the merchandise!
If you like songs mostly to do with women, touring and the occasional drug reference then you’ll enjoy Dragstrip!
Now onto the main event in Lesbian Bed Death…
Since the last gig the lineup had changed slightly with a new bassist and a different drummer (to the eagle eyed the same drummer from Dragstrip Junkies at least for this gig)
It was also the first time to hear any of the new material and with ‘moonlight’ and ‘Retrosexual’ the band have managed to achieve the chance to break out when the second album arrives.
The performance was very tight, some of the songs may sound faster live than on the record but the fact they can adapt the songs without missing a beat works well with the vocals of Luci4 bringing the combination of soul and sleaze together perfectly along with the dual guitars of Mr Peach and Chuckmaster C (not the actual persona name but had to think of one!)
A worthy return for the band and overall the show was a good night of rock and roll to kick off the weekend right!
